Fire Turns 24 Shelter Home Rooms to Ashes in Mayurbhanj


A raging fire charred 24 rooms of shelter homes for the displaced families in Sialinai village under Karanjia block in Mayurbhanj district on the intervening night of February 5.

The displaced families are from the Simlipal sanctuary area and had been shifted to Sialinai village last year in June.

No casualty has been reported and the cause of fire is yet to be determined.

Earlier, on January 24, around 16 rooms of the shelter home in the same area were burnt to ashes and one person received critical burn injuries.

As per information, in June 2018 around 71 families from Ramjodi area of Simlipal sanctuary core area had been shifted to shelter homes in Sialinai village in Mayurbhanj district.
