Maoists Set Ablaze Passenger Bus in Malkangiri

A passenger bus plying from Mathili area was obstructed by Maoists near Mundaguda area in Malkangiri on the late night of January 28-29.

Around 30 passengers commuting were told to evacuate the bus first. Later, the Maoists poured diesel on the bus and set it on fire.

The Maoists thrashed the driver and conductor of the bus for plying the bus during the ongoing ‘Bharat Bandh’ protest being observed by Maoists from January 25 to January 31.

The extremists left the incident site and took away the mobile phone of the bus driver and conductor.

Police from Mathili area reached the spot and an investigation is underway. The area is under fear after this terror incident.
