Cape Town: South African Test skipper Hashim Amla stood tall as he played a brilliant knock and completed his career-third double ton, his third on day-4 here on Tuesday after England set a massive 629 run first innings total.

Amla has played a quality knock at the right time when his side was requiring that kind of marathon innings. He scored 201 runs while played important roles in two massive partnerships with AB De Villiers and FaF Du Plessis.

He first added 183 runs with De Villiers for the third wicket followed by another huge 171 runs with Du Plessis for the fourth wicket.

Stuart Broad picked Amla’s wicket soon after he completed his double ton.
