India’s MC Mary Kom lost to Turkey boxer Busenaz Cakiroglu in the semifinals of World Women’s Boxing Champioships at Ulan-Ude in Russia on Saturday.
The six-time World Champion Mary Kom earned a bronze medal in the 51-kg category of the World Boxing Champion event.
Turkey’s Busenaz Cakiroglu is the reigning European Champion who won against Kom in a 4-1 verdict.
However, Kom expressed disappointment over her loss and said in her tweet, “How and why. Let the world know how much right and wrong the decision is…”
This bronze medal is Mary Kom’s first medal in her new 51-kg category at the World Championships event.
