Cuttack: Odisha endured its fourth annihilation in the ongoing Syed Mustaq Ali T20 Group-D League tournament after they lost to Services by four wickets at DRIEMS ground here on Thursday.
Put into bat, Odisha lost the wicket of wicket of opener Anurag Sarangi for one run. Then again, Abhilash Mallick (30) and Biplab Samantray (35) took the score to 71.
The hosts were in a bad position after the couple got out with the score at 76-3.
But Abhishek Yadav (52) and Govind Poddar (42 not out) attacked Services bowlers and took the score to 169. After Yadav’s flight in the last over of the match, Alok Sahu faced 2 balls and scored six keeps running with an enormous six. The hosts at last finished their innings at 176 for 4 in 20 overs.
For Services, Raushan Raj, Ritesh Negi and Abhishek Sinha asserted one wicket each.
Pursuing the target, the guests propelled rankling attack with openers Aanshul Gupta (39) and Nakul Verma (63) putting on 107 keeps running in 11.3 overs. In spite of the fact that the Odisha bowlers figured out how to take fast wickets after the way out of these two openers, it was past the point of no return for them to limit the guests who won the match with 177 for 6 in 19.2 overs.
