Cuttack: President of Odisha Olympic Association(OOA),Samir Dey, has steered clear off the land grab controversy today. A case has been filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Asirbad Behera, his relatives and some officials of OOA,after raids were conducted in the office of OOA in Barabati Stadium,his residence,his son-in-law residence and his sons offices on Friday. Asirbad Behera was the Secretary of OOA for nearly two decades.
Speaking to media, Dey said that the illegal constructions of the Kalyan Mandap and 23 shops by OOA on grabbed government land was built way back in 2000,when he was not the president of OOA. He has assured support and give necessary help to the investigating agency. The CBI has started the investigation as per the Supreme Court order. The apex court has directed Behera to refrain from OOA activities and barred him from holding any post in the organisation.
