Bhubaneswar: A complaint was filed by a social activist with the chief electoral officer (CEO) Mona Sharma on Tuesday challenging the candidature of the two BJD Rajya Sabha candidates A U Singhdeo and Bhupinder Singh, alleging both have double voter ID cards and have furnished incorrect information in their affidavits.
Although returning officer of Odisha Assembly did not accept social activist Subash Mohapatra’s complain, but CEO Mona Sharma received the same. Mohapatra alleged that Bhupinder Singh, son of Jodh Singh has one voter ID bearing number RMU0054833 having serial at 812 in part 94 Gautam Nagar in 114 Ekamra-Bhubaneswar constituency, while his second voter ID with number YAO0725366 and serial at 458 in part 236 M-Rampur -1 in 81 Narla Assembly Constituency.
Similarly, the other BJD Upper House candidate former minister AU Singhdeo, son of Rajendra Narayan Singhdeo also possesses two voter ID cards. His first ID is at Gopabandhu Nagar in Bhubaneswar city bearing number RXL0664847, while he also another card bearing number LLP1929132 in Bolangir constituency. Interestingly, his son Kalikesh Singhdeo, who is a BJD Lok Sabha MP, has also two voter ID cards, Mohaptra alleged.
