Bhubaneswar: Nine teams of CBI carried out simultaneous raids at the offices of chit fund company Green India Finance (GIF) on Thursday and even houses of its two directors Pradeep Singh and Sunil Panda were raided, sources said.
The CBI officials, who are probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha, seized several incriminating documents during the raids. The CBI teams raided Singh’s residences in Berhampur and Panda’s houses in Bhubaneswar and Berhampur simultaneously, sources added.
Earlier, nearly 60 duped investors had filed a complaint against the company and its directors, following which a case was registered by Berhampur police against GIF and its officials in August 2013. The CBI officials so far have raided offices of some other chit fund companies and residences of a sitting BJD MP and two former MLAs in connection with the multi-crore scam in Odisha and are expected to conduct more raids in near future, sources added.
