Nepal Tourism Minister Dies in Chopper Crash; 6 along Are Also Dead


A chopper crash in Taplejung district in Nepal has taken the life of Nepal’s Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Rabindra Adhikari on Wednesday.

The Civil Aviation Authority in Nepal has confirmed the unfortunate incident.

Six other officials travelling with him have also been reported dead. The deceased persons include aviation and hospitality entrepreneur Ang Tsering Sherpa, Yubaraj Dahal (personal aide to PM KP Sharma Oli), Birendra Prasad Shrestha (Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal) among the six dead.

The chopper had hit the eastern side of the shrine atop the hill. The locals in the area witnessed the debris of the chopper.

The Nepal Prime Minister has called up for a meeting at his residence in view of the accident.
