Bhubaneswar: Former Khandapara MLA Siddharth Sekhar Singh today joined BJP in the presence of Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan and State BJP supremo Basant Panda here at state party office.
The scion of Khandapara imperial family in Nayagarh locale had resigned from BJD on January 3
40-year old Singh was a member of the state assembly between 2009 and 2014. Then again, he was angry with the party leadership in the wake of being neglected for a ticket amid the 2014 Assembly polls.
Odisha CM and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik had picked the son of previous MLA Bijaylaxmi Patnaik in Singh’s place whose supporters had then organized a protest in front of Patnaik’s house.
In his letter of abdication to Naveen Patnaik, Singh had attributed it to the way that the party was not giving him due inportance.
